17 Seconds Records was formed by two teachers in Edinburgh in August 2008. 17 Seconds is the name of the long-running mp3 blog written by one half of the label. It in turn took its' name from the second album by the Cure. We aspire to follow in the footsteps of Postcard Records, Chemikal Underground, Factory, Fast and Rough Trade. Our first release was the single 'Claire' by Aberfeldy and we released our second, 'Neon Hearts' by Ex Lion Tamer (now X-Lion Tamer) in early 2009.

In May 2009 we signed Escape Act. Our third single is 'God Says' by Escape Act which was released on download on June 1. In July 2009 we signed our fourth act, The Dirty Cuts. This was followed by our fifth act, Chris Bradley. In September 2009 we released our fourth single 'I Said Stop' by X-Lion Tamer. October 2009 was the first release from Chris Bradley 'Bored Little Rosie'/'The Man I Love.' November 2009 saw the sixth single release by Escape Act 'Cabin Fever' and our sixth signing, The Wildhouse, who issued Precise Running Order - The Wildhouse Sampler.

We have started 2010 by signing The Factory Kids! So far in 2010, we have issued '2 Page Spread' single by the Dirty Cuts and the 'They Used To Call Me Baby' EP by the Factory Kids, and re-issued the first two albums by the Wildhouse 'Hyenas' and 'Poet:Saint.' This is the video for Chris Bradley's single 'Waltzing,' released on February 22, available from iTunes and all good download services. It is taken from the forthcoming album At The Outpost. This will be available on CD and download from March 29.

First of all, Ed....  Despair
